Male Circumcision and Its Benefits to Women – Male circumcision is where the foreskin covering the tip of the penis is removed. This is normally done during the first few months that the male child is born.
It has been the issue of men and its education was limited to men alone. This includes how it helps to prevent certain sexually transmitted diseases like HIV and also contributes to sexual sensations. However, now the women have gotten involved and have gotten to know how good it is to have a circumcised partner. It also prevents women from getting the Human Papillomavirus which also causes cancer.
Study shows that a man who is circumcised is likely not to pass certain diseases to women. When the foreskin is on it attracts viruses which can be passed on to women. And because of its warmness bacteria find it a good place to grow. It can be harmful to women as the human papillomavirus (HPV) is a major cause of Cervical cancer in women.
A research study was conducted in Sudan to determine whether it is true an HIV-negative circumcised man, can reduce the chances of his HIV-negative Female partner contracting HPV. This was done between 2003 and 2006. After a whole year of conducting this experiment, it came out that more than 38% of women whose partners were not circumcised stood a higher chance of getting HPV infection compared to those who had circumcised partners.
This showed that medical circumcision on the male should be a normal practice for all. Some women were not enlightened enough to know how important it is for their male partners to be medically circumcised.
This shows how ignorant some are when it comes to the health benefits of circumcision. Research shows some men are not aware of this and there are still a lot of men out there who haven’t been circumcised. According to a doctor in Lebina of Zuzimpilo Medical Center, Dr Dimakatso, they are doing their best to educate the people on this.
